Karen Gordon-Brown, of Oakland, CA, has successfully completed the course in Auctioneering and Sales Management at the Missouri Auction School, the largest auction training center in the world. As a jazz vocalist, Karen blends her auctioneering skills with her sultry voice and emerges as The San Francisco Bay Area’s Original Singing Auctioneer. “I am just an Auctioneer who can sing!” Gordon- Brown said. “And I have discovered that opening your charity auction with a great jazz standard sung a cappella or a hit song with a band is a great way to gain attention and put everyone in a fun mood to get the bidding started!”
The auctioneer’s diploma granted Gordon-Brown includes the honorary title of Colonel. The title of Colonel is a tradition dating from the post-civil war reconstruction of the south when Union Army Colonel’s were ordered by President Lincoln to auction sorely needed equipment and supplies.
